Woven Hearts Table Runner

Necessary materials: Woven Hearts Table Runner

Fabric of your choice in two contrasting colors
Ruler
Scissors
Pins
Sewing machine or needle and thread for hand sewing
Step 1: Cutting the Fabrics
Start by cutting the fabrics to the desired measurements for your table runner. You will need strips long enough for the width of the table runner and wide enough to accommodate the intertwined hearts. For example, if your table runner is 40 cm wide, you can cut strips of fabric approximately 10 cm wide.

Step 2: Cutting the Hearts
Using a ruler and pen or fabric chalk, draw the outline of hearts on the contrasting color fabric. You will need enough hearts to cover the length of the table runner. Make sure to leave enough space between each heart for sewing.

Step 3: Sewing the Hearts
With the hearts drawn on the fabric, fold the fabric in half with the right side facing in and pin the two layers together. Then sew along the heart line, leaving a small opening to turn the heart right side out.

Step 4: Cutting and Turning the Hearts
After sewing around the heart, carefully cut off the excess fabric around the seam, leaving a margin of about 0.5 cm. Then cut a small slit in the back of the heart, being careful not to cut into the stitching. This will make it easier to turn the heart to the right side.

Step 5: Turn the Hearts and Finish
Using the opening left previously, turn the hearts right side out. Use a pin or pointed tool to push the corners and edges of the heart so they are sharp. Then close the opening with a straight seam.

Step 6: Assembling the Table Runner
With the hearts ready, it’s time to assemble the table runner. Line up the hearts along the fabric strips, alternating colors as desired. Use pins to secure the hearts in place.

Step 7: Sewing the Strips and Hearts
With the hearts pinned to the strips of fabric, sew along the strips, securing the hearts in place. You can do this on a sewing machine using a straight stitch or by hand using a blind stitch.

Step 8: Final Finish
After sewing the strips of fabric with the hearts, do any additional finishing necessary. This may include pressing seams, cutting any loose threads, and trimming any excess fabric.

And ready! Your table runner with intertwined hearts is complete and ready to decorate your table. This is a charming project that will add a touch of charm and romanticism to your decor. Try combining different colors and fabrics to create a unique, personalized table runner. Have fun sewing!
